MLB: Minnesota 5, Toronto 0

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Brad Radke scattered five hits over seven scoreless innings Sunday afternoon as Minnesota beat Toronto, 5-0.

Justin Morneau had one run, two hits and two RBI; Jason Tyner had three hits and two RBI; Michael Cuddyer hit a solo home run; and Nick Punto had a run and two hits for the Twins (68-49).

Minnesota snapped a three-game losing streak and moved within eight games of first-place Detroit in the American League Central.

Radke (12-8) had one walk and three strikeouts.

Bengie Molina had two of the five hits for the Blue Jays (63-55), who had a four-game winning streak broken.

Losing pitcher Shaun Slocum (1-2) gave up four runs and eight hits in five innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

Toronto trails the New York Yankees by seven games in the American League East and the Chicago White Sox by eight games in the AL wild-card chase.
