MLB: LA Angels 5, N.Y. Yankees 3

NEW YORK, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Juan Rivera had two hits and two RBI Sunday afternoon as the Los Angeles Angels beat the New York Yankees, 5-3.

Chone Figgins had two runs and three hits, including a solo home run; Howie Kendrick had three hits and one RBI; while both Orlando Cabrera and Vladimir Guerrero had a run and two hits for the Angels (61-57), who have won two of the first three games in this series, which concludes Monday night.

Winner Jered Weaver (8-0) yielded one run and three hits in six innings with three walks and eight strikeouts. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 30th save.

Craig Wilson, Alex Rodriguez and Jason Giambi hit solo homers for the Yankees (68-46), who have split their last 10 games, but lead Boston by 1 ½ games in the American League East.

Losing pitcher Chien-Ming Wang (13-5) surrendered five runs and 13 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
