MLB: Houston 4, San Diego 2

HOUSTON, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Winning pitcher Andy Pettitte and Lance Berkman each hit solo home runs Friday night to help Houston beat the San Diego Padres, 4-2.

Brad Ausmus drove in one run, and a run scored on a wild pitch by San Diego starting and losing pitcher Chan Ho Park, as the Astros (57-58) won their fourth straight.

In seven innings, Pettitte (11-12) surrendered only three hits and two runs with one walk and 10 strikeouts. Brad Lidge earned his 26th save.

Brian Giles hit a run-scoring infield single, and Mike Cameron hit a sacrifice fly for the Padres (58-57), who were out-hit, 11-3, while suffering their fourth straight loss.

Park (7-7) gave up three runs and eight hits in five innings with two walks and three strikeouts.
