MLB: Seattle 5, Tampa Bay 4

SEATTLE, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A go-ahead homer by Raul Ibanez in the fifth helped give the Seattle Mariners a 5-4 seesaw victory Monday over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

In the first of a three-game series at Safeco Field, Adrian Beltre hit a two-run shot for the Mariners, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Jose Lopez finished 3-for-4 and scored twice.

Left-hander Jamie Moyer gave up four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and three walks in 4 1/3 innings. Julio Mateo earned the win and J.J. Putz grabbed his 24th save in the final 1 1/3 innings.

Carl Crawford matched a career-high with four hits for the Devil Rays, who have lost 12 of their last 13 road games. Ben Zobrist went 2-for-5 with one run scored and one RBI.

Right-hander Tim Corcoran went a fifth straight outing without a victory for Tampa Bay.
