PHOENIX, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A grand slam home run by Brad Ausmus in the second inning Saturday night started Houston on its way to a 9-3 win over Arizona.
Luke Scott hit a two-run homer; Aubrey Huff added a solo blast; Scott had two runs and four hits; Huff had two runs and two hits; while Willy Taveras had a run and two hits for the Astros (53-57), who have won four of their last five games.
Winner Roger Clemens (3-4) gave up three runs and eight hits in seven innings with one walk and five strikeouts.
Loser Dustin Nippert (0-2) gave up eight hits and seven runs in five innings.
Clemens earned his 344th victory and Craig Biggio got his 2,900th hit.
