Davydenko makes Sopot semifinals

SOPOT, Poland, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Nikolay Davydenko and Agustin Calleri Friday were quarterfinal winners at the Orange Prokom Open Tennis Tournament in Sopot, Poland.

Davydenko of Russia, the No. 1 seed, trounced Argentina's Carlos Berlocq, 6-0, 6-4. The eighth-seeded Calleri of Argentina downed wild card Michal Przysiezny of Poland, 6-4, 6-2.

Calleri -- who won the Generali Open at Kitzbuhel, Austria, last week -- has an eight-match winning streak after Friday's victory.

No. 5 seed Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina topped last year's Sopot runner-up, Florian Mayer of Germany, 6-4, 6-0. Seventh-seeded Filippo Volandri of Italy beat Oliver Marach of Austria, 6-2, 6-3.

In Saturday's semifinals, Davydenko will play Volandri and Calleri faces Mayer.
