SALT LAKE CITY, July 29 (UPI) -- Jeff Cunningham scored twice on penalty kicks as Real Salt Lake beat D.C. United for the first time ever, 2-1, Saturday night.
Real -- still stuck in the Western Conference basement -- stopped United's 14-game unbeaten streak, but United still holds the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 45 points.

Real got the equalizer and then the game-winner in the final minutes of the match as United's John Wilson took down Mehdi Ballouchy and Jamie Watson in the box. Cunningham made both penalty kicks, and Real picked up their fifth victory of the season.
