MLB: Pittsburgh 2, San Francisco 1

PITTSBURGH, July 30 (UPI) -- Jose Hernandez hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 10th inning Sunday as Pittsburgh edged San Francisco, 2-1, finishing a three-game sweep.

Jose Castillo hit a solo homer for the other run, while Hernandez and Jack Wilson each had three hits for the Pirates (40-66), who have won their last five games.

In relief, the winner was John Grabow (3-1).

Todd Linden hit a solo home run, and both he and Shea Hillenbrand had two hits for the Giants (51-54), whose losing streak grew to seven games.

The losing pitcher was reliever Steve Kline (2-3).

The Pirates finished the season series against the Giants with a 6-1 record.
