Clijsters tops Schnyder at Bank of West

STANFORD, Calif., July 30 (UPI) -- Top seeded Belgian Kim Clijsters beat No. 2 Swiss Patty Schnyder, 6-4, 6-2, Sunday to win her second-straight Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, Calif.

In a match that took less than an hour to play, Clijsters won $95,500 prize. Schnyder got $51,000 for second place.

In addition to her Bank of the West title in 2005, Clijsters also won the tournament in 2001 and 2003, and was the runner-up in 2002.

She has 33 career titles and 402 career singles victories.
