Karlsson has a 2-shot lead at Hamburg

HAMBURG, Germany, July 29 (UPI) -- Sweden's Robert Karlsson has a two-shot lead after 54 holes at the European Tour's Players Championship of Europe in Hamburg, Germany.

With his second straight 6-under-par 66 on Saturday, Karlsson is a record 20-under 196 through three rounds.

He needs to earn enough Merit of Order points this weekend to continue his quest for a spot on the European Ryder Cup team.

"Obviously it is hard not to get caught up in it but there is a lot more to play for out there than The Ryder Cup," he said. "I'm happy with what I'm doing at the moment and I'm just trying to take one shot at a time."

At 18-under 198, England's Lee Westwood, who opened with a 63, is alone in second place, with South Africa's Charl Schwartzel (68) and Ian Woosnam (69) of Wales tied for third at 16-under 200.

The third round was completed despite a weather delay.
