MLB: Washington 6, San Francisco 5

WASHINGTON, July 27 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano and Ryan Zimmerman hit home runs Thursday afternoon as Washington beat San Francisco, 6-5, completing a three-game sweep.

Zimmerman had two runs and two RBI. Soriano's home run, his 32nd of the season, led off the bottom of the first inning.

Austin Kearns had three hits and one RBI, and Nick Johnson snapped a seventh-inning tie with a two-run single for the Nationals (46-56), who have won six games in a row.

Winner Livan Hernandez (8-8) allowed three runs and six hits in seven innings.

Chad Cordero got his 17th save.

Eliezer Alfonzo hit two homers and knocked in four runs; Jose Vizcaino hit an RBI single and Ray Durham had two runs and two hits for the Giants (51-51), who have a four-game losing streak.

Loser Matt Cain (7-7) gave up six runs and five hits in 6 2/3 innings.
