MLB: Florida 5, Pittsburgh 4

MIAMI, July 23 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla had three hits and two RBI Sunday afternoon to help the Florida Marlins edge the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-4.

Uggla's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning was the game-winning hit. One of his hits was a solo home run.

Jeremy Hermida also hit a solo home run, while Hanley Ramirez and Matt Treanor each had one RBI for the Marlins (45-52), who have four wins in their last five games.

In relief, the winner was Joe Borowski (5-4).

Jose Hernandez hit a two-run single; Jack Wilson hit an RBI single; Joe Randa hit an RBI double; and Freddy Sanchez had a run and three hits for the Pirates (35-65), who have dropped three straight after winning five of their previous seven games.

The losing pitcher was closer Mike Gonzalez (3-4).
