MLB: Kansas City 9, LA Angels 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 20 (UPI) -- David DeJesus had two runs, two hits and two RBI Thursday night to help Kansas City beat the Los Angeles Angels, 9-4.

Doug Mientkiewicz had two runs, two hits and one RBI; Mark Teahen, Joey Gathright and Mark Grudzielanek all had one run, two hits and one RBI; and Angel Berroa hit an RBI single for the Royals (33-62), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

In relief, the winner was Elmer Dessens (5-7).

Vladimir Guerrero hit a two-run double and an RBI single; Howie Kendrick hit an RBI double; Maicer Izturis had two runs and two hits; and Juan Rivera also had two hits for the Angels (48-47), who have split their last four games.

The losing pitcher was reliever Kevin Gregg (2-3).

Angels starter Ervin Santana walked eight, and the Angels defense committed four errors -- three of them in the sixth inning.
