EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 14 (UPI) -- Armando Guevara scored 10 minutes from the half Friday night as the New York Red Bulls beat Colorado, 1-0, in Major League Soccer at Giants Stadium.

The victory ended a five-game winless streak for the Red Bulls and was the first win for interim coach Richie Williams, who replaced Mo Johnson in June.

Substitute netminder Jon Conway had four saves, as starting goalkeeper Tony Meola sat out the afternoon contest with a bacterial infection in his right foot and ankle.

The loss ended a two-game Rapids' winning streak.
