Four replacements for WNBA All-Stars

NEW YORK, July 10 (UPI) -- Four players were named Monday as injury replacements for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game.

Chicago Sky forward Candice Dupree, Connecticut Sun forward Taj McWilliams-Franklin, Charlotte Sting forward Tangela Smith and Houston Comets center Michelle Snow were named as replacement players for the game, to be played Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

McWilliams-Franklin, Smith and Dupree will fill the spots on the Eastern Conference roster vacated by Tamika Catchings, Becky Hammon and Nykesha Sales. Snow will replace Comets teammate Tina Thompson for the Western Conference.

Catchings has acute Achilles tendinitis; Hammon has a sprained left ankle; Sales is out with an Achilles tendon injury; and Thompson has a strained right calf.
