Immelman gets his first PGA victory

LEMONT, Ill., July 9 (UPI) -- Trevor Immelman shot a 4-under 67 Sunday to win the Western Open Golf Tournament at Lemont, Ill.

With a final score of 13-under 271, he beat Tiger Woods (68) and Mathew Goggin (69) by two shots and won $900,000 for his first PGA Tour win.

"It was such a fantastic feeling to hole that putt," said Immelman, who was the runner-up at both the Wachovia and Byron Nelson Championships earlier this year.

He finished the tournament with a birdie at the 18th and final hole.

Stephen Leaney (68), Carl Pettersson (71), Vijay Singh (73), Stewart Cink (71), Tim Clark (66) and 2005 champion Jim Furyk (70) tied for fourth place at 9-under 275.

Jason Gore and Scott Gutschewski tied for 10th place at 8-under 276.
