PHILADELPHIA, July 6 (UPI) -- Khalil Greene hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday night as San Diego beat Philadelphia, 6-3.
Mike Piazza hit an RBI single; starter Jake Peavy hit a two-run homer; Greene had two runs and two hits; and Piazza had three hits for the Padres (44-40).

San Diego snapped a three-game losing streak.
Despite allowing two inherited runners to score in the eighth, the winner was reliever Scott Linebrink (6-2).
Chase Utley hit an RBI double; while David Bell and Aaron Rowland each had two hits for the Phillies (38-45), who had won their previous two games.
The loser was Arthur Rhodes (0-3).
