MLB: Kansas City 6, Toronto 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 6 (UPI) -- Mark Redman held Toronto to two runs on five hits over eight innings as the Kansas City Royals beat the Blue Jays, 6-2, Thursday night.

Redman (6-4) struck out two and walked two for the Royals, who have won three straight. Mark Teahen homered, and Doug Mientkiewicz and Emil Brown had two RBI each for Kansas City.

Blue Jays starter Ty Taubenheim (1-5) was pushed around for four runs on five hits and two walks in just 2 2/3 innings. Vernon Wells hit his 22nd homer and Lyle Overbay drove in the other run for the Blue Jays, who have lost four of their last five games.
