MLB: Arizona 6, Oakland 4

OAKLAND, Calif., July 1 (UPI) -- Shawn Green had three hits and drove in two runs Friday night as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat Oakland, 6-4.

Claudio Vargas (7-4) earned the win for Arizona, giving up three runs on six hits through six innings with five strikeouts and three walks.

Johnny Estrada had three hits and scored two runs for the Diamondbacks, who broke a three-game losing streak.

Mark Ellis and Adam Melhuse each drove in two runs for the A's, who have lost three of their last four games.

Oakland starter Kirk Saarloos gave up three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings with three walks and one strikeout. Brad Halsey (3-3) took the loss, giving up three runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings.
