KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 26 (UPI) -- Doug Mientkiewicz had three hits and drove in three runs Sunday as Kansas City blanked Milwaukee, 6-0.
Tony Graffanino had two runs, one hit and two RBI; Matt Stairs had two hits and one RBI; David DeJesus had one run and two hits; Joey Gathright scored twice; and Emil Brown had three hits for the Royals (24-50), who have won six of their last seven games.
Winner Mark Redman (5-4) pitched seven-plus shutout innings to win his fifth straight decision. He scattered six hits, walked two and struck out one.
Six different players had a hit for the Brewers (37-39), who have lost two in a row and four of their last nine games.
In three innings, losing pitcher Rick Helling (0-2) was charged with one run and three hits, and the Royals scored five runs against three Milwaukee relievers.
