NEW YORK, June 25 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera hit a solo home run Sunday night to help Florida beat the New York Yankees, 5-0, in the nightcap of a day-night doubleheader at Yankee Stadium.
Cabrera had two runs, two hits and one RBI; Jeremy Hermida had two hits and one RBI; Miguel Olivo had one run and two hits; and Reggie Abercrombie scored twice for the Marlins (32-40), who have won 13 of their last 14 games.
In his major league debut, winning pitcher Anibal Sanchez (1-0) scattered seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with no walks and two strikeouts.
Three relievers held the Yankees hitless in 3 1/3 innings.
Derek Jeter had two of the seven hits for the Yankees (42-31), who had a four-game winning broken.
The Yankees lost second baseman Robinson Cano to a strained left hamstring. Jason Giambi missed the opener because of back spasms.
