MLB: Arizona 9, LA Angels 7

PHOENIX, June 26 (UPI) -- Orlando Hudson hit a key three-run homer Sunday as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Los Angeles Angels, 9-7.

Hudson had two runs, two hits and four RBI; Conor Jackson had two runs and four hits; and Craig Counsell had two hits and two RBI for the Diamondbacks (37-39), who avoided a three-game sweep and broke a five-game losing streak.

Miguel Batista (7-5) got the win despite surrendering six runs and seven hits in seven innings.

Jorge Julio picked up his sixth save.

Kendry Morales hit a two-run homer, Tommy Murphy drove in two runs, and both Tim Salmon and Chone Figgins scored twice for the Angels (34-41), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

In 4 2/3 innings, losing pitcher Kelvim Escobar (5-9) allowed eight runs and nine hits.
