MLB: Toronto 7, N.Y. Mets 4

TORONTO, June 24 (UPI) -- Vernon Wells drove in four runs with two homers Saturday, helping Toronto beat the New York Mets, 7-4.

Frank Catalanotto hit a two-run single; and Eric Hinske had one run, one hit and one RBI for the Blue Jays (41-33), who have won four of their last five games.


Winner Roy Halladay (9-2) yielded four runs on 10 hits over 7 1/3 innings. B.J. Ryan got his 21st save.

Jose Reyes had two runs and four hits; David Wright hit an RBI triple; and Carlos Delgado had one run, three hits and one RBI for the Mets (46-28), who had won their previous two games.

Losing pitcher Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez (4-7) gave up six runs and four hits in 1 2/3 innings in his shortest outing of the season.
