Shi Hyun Ahn leads at Pittsford

PITTSFORD, N.Y., June 22 (UPI) -- After a 7-under 65 Thursday, Shi Hyun Ahn has a one-shot lead at the Wegmans LPGA Classic in Pittsford, N.Y.

The Korean native, whose best finish in an LPGA event was a tie for fifth at this year's LPGA Championship two weeks ago, was the International Rookie of the Year in 2004.

Her career earnings are short of $240,000. She earned her LPGA member card in 2003.

"When I woke up (Thursday) morning, it was very windy, so I thought it was going to be a cold day, so I had long pants on," Ahn said through a translator. "However, it ended up being a really hot day so it was kind of hard."

Rookie Brittany Lang is second at 6-under 66.

Soo Young Moon is third at 5-under 67 and Hee Jung Park is alone in fourth place at 4-under 68.

Defending champion Lorena Ochoa is 2-under 70.
