MLB: Boston 6, Washington 3

BOSTON, June 19 (UPI) -- Manny Ramirez had a a homer and two runs scored Monday to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 6-3 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Kyle Snyder (1-0), who was claimed off waivers from the Royals on June 16, got the win in his Boston debut. He yielded three runs on four hits with six strikeouts in five innings.

Jermaine Van Buren, Javier Lopez, and Rudy Seanez each pitched a scoreless inning in relief before Mike Timlin closed the game out in the ninth for his first save of the year.

Coco Crisp and Gabe Kapler each had an RBI and a run scored for the Red Sox, who have won four straight games.

Jose Vidro and Jose Guillen each homered for the Nationals, who have lost six of their last eight games.

Tony Armas Jr. (6-4) took the loss after allowing four runs on eight hits with two walks in 3 2/3 innings.
