Four Mets lead slots in NL All-Star voting

NEW YORK, June 19 (UPI) -- The New York Mets now have four players leading for their positions for the National League All-Star team.

The latest Mets to move up included Carlos Beltran with 1,129,865 votes.

Shortstop Jose Reyes, third baseman David Wright and catcher Paul Lo Duca are the other Mets who lead in the balloting.

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols continues to lead the National League in All-Star voting. Pujols, despite still being sidelined with a strained right oblique muscle, received another 300,000-plus votes to up his league-leading total to 1,777,968.

Reyes jumped into first place at shortstop, ahead of Pujols' teammate David Eckstein, after earning nearly 300,000 votes over the last week.

Wright (1,018,804) leads St. Louis' Scott Rolen (819,390) and Houston's Morgan Ensberg (531,479) at the hot corner while Lo Duca is in front of a former Met and current Padre, Mike Piazza.
