BROOKLYN, Mich., June 18 (UPI) -- Kasey Kahne won Sunday's Michigan 400 Nextel Cup race at Brooklyn, Mich., when the race was called because of rain after 129 of the 200 laps.
"It's pretty crazy to win in the rain and be in the right place there at the end," said Kahne, who got his fourth win of the season and fifth of his Cup career. "We did have the best car. This is awesome."
Carl Edwards was second, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Greg Biffle and Reed Sorenson.
Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top 10.
In the points race, Johnson has 2,295 to 2,221 for Matt Kenseth, 2,051 for Kahne and 2,020 for Earnhardt.
Asked if he felt he would have won if the race had gone all 400 miles, Kahne said: "I know we would have challenged for it."
The next Nextel Cup race is the Dodge Save/Mart 350 in Sonoma, Calif., on June 25.
