MLB: Oakland 9, Seattle 6

OAKLAND, Calif., June 15 (UPI) -- Dan Johnson had four hits in four trips and knocked in four runs Thursday afternoon as Oakland beat Seattle, 9-6.

The victory concluded a three-game sweep.

Bobby Kielty hit a two-run homer, Nick Swisher added a two-run double, and Jay Payton had two runs and three hits for the Athletics (35-31), who have a seven-game winning streak.

Winner Esteban Loaiza (2-3) yielded five runs and six hits over six innings. Huston Street earned his 16th save.

Before the game, Oakland placed slugger Frank Thomas on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right quadriceps muscle.

Yuniesky Betancourt had two hits and two RBI; Carl Everett had two hits, two runs and one RBI; and Ichiro Suzuki extended his hitting streak to 15 games for the Mariners (31-37), who followed a three-game winning streak with three straight losses.

Losing pitcher Jarrod Washburn fell to 4-8.
