MLB: Kansas City 4, L.A. Angels 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 15 (UPI) -- Matt Stairs knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Wednesday night to lead Kansas City to a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

Mark Grudzielanek, who homered, had one run, two hits, and two RBI; David DeJesus had two runs and one hit; while Angel Berroa had two hits for the Royals (17-47), who broke a four-game losing streak.

Winner Mark Redman (3-4) gave up three runs and four hits in eight innings with three walks and one strikeout.

Ambiorix Burgos got his ninth save.

Robb Quinlan hit a three-run homer; Tim Salmon had one run and two hits; and Vladimir Guerrero had two hits for the Angels (29-36), who have lost four of their last six games.

The loser was Scot Shields (3-4), who gave up the game-winning run.
