MLB: Florida 3, Atlanta 2

MIAMI, June 15 (UPI) -- Cody Ross hit a two-run homer Thursday night to lead the Florida Marlins over the Atlanta Braves, 3-2, completing a three-game sweep.

Dan Uggla hit a solo homer, Mike Jacobs hit two doubles, and Jeremy Hermida also had two hits for the Marlins (26-37), who raised their winning streak to five games.

In seven innings, winner Ricky Nolasco (5-3) allowed one run and five hits. Joe Borowski earned his 10th save.

Adam LaRoche hit a solo home run, and Andruw Jones had a hit and drove in the other run for the Braves (30-37), who have lost four in a row and 14 of their last 17 games.

Loser Jorge Sosa sank to 1-9.

The loss dropped the Braves 13 games out of first place in the National League East Division behind the front-running New York Mets.

It is the first time since 1992 that Atlanta has fallen seven games under .500.
