MLB: Colorado 14, Washington 8

WASHINGTON, June 15 (UPI) -- Garrett Atkins had three hits, including a homer, and drove in four runs as the Colorado Rockies beat the Washington Nationals, 14-8, Wednesday.

Matt Holliday also had four RBI and Todd Helton had three hits -- including a homer -- drove in three and scored three runs for Colorado. Jamey Carroll homered and scored four runs for the Rockies.

Tom Martin (1-0) pitched three innings of scoreless relief to earn the victory. He replaced starter Byung-Hyun Kim, who was pushed around for eight runs over 3 1/3 innings.

Washington starter Tony Armas surrendered seven runs in three-plus innings, but the loss went to reliever Bill Bray (1-1), who gave up five runs on eight hits in just two innings.

Ryan Zimmerman had four hits, three RBI and two runs scored for the Nationals, who have lost four of their last five games.
