MLB: N.Y. Yankees 6, Cleveland 1

NEW YORK, June 14 (UPI) -- Andy Phillips and Johnny Damon each hit home runs Wednesday night to help the New York Yankees beat Cleveland, 6-1.

Robinson Cano had three hits and one RBI, Derek Jeter had one run and two hits, and Alex Rodriguez and Bernie Williams had one RBI each for the Yankees (37-26), who have won two in a row on the heels of a three-game losing streak.

In 6 1/3 innings, winner Randy Johnson (8-5) yielded only one run and four hits with no walks and six strikeouts.

Jason Michaels had two of Cleveland's five hits, and Eduardo Perez scored the only run on a double play groundout by Ben Broussard. The Indians (30-34) have lost seven times in their last nine games, and nine times in the 13 starts made by losing pitcher Jason Johnson (3-7) -- who was pounded for six runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings.
