MLB: Florida 4, Atlanta 1

MIAMI, June 13 (UPI) -- Rookie pitcher Josh Johnson allowed just one run over six innings Tuesday to lead the Florida Marlins to a 4-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

The 22-year-old Johnson (5-4) scattered seven hits while striking out seven and walking two for Florida, which has won four of its last five games.

The Florida bullpen allowed only one hit over the final three innings, with Joe Borowski pitching a scoreless ninth to record his ninth save of the season.

Mike Jacobs hit a solo home run and Dan Uggla was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Marlins.

John Smoltz (4-5) suffered the loss after allowing three runs on five hits over six innings. Jeff Francoeur drove in his team's lone run and Brian McCann went 3-for-3 for the Braves, who have lost 10 of their last 12 games.
