MLB: Texas 7, Boston 4

BOSTON, June 10 (UPI) -- A key RBI single by Ian Kinsler Saturday night helped the Texas Rangers beat Boston, 7-4.

The contest was scheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader, but the afternoon game was rained out. The teams will try again to play two on Sunday afternoon.

Hank Blalock, who had three runs and three hits, belted a two-run homer in the ninth inning; Mark DeRosa had two hits and two RBI; while Gerald Laird and Michael Young each had one run and one hit for the Rangers (33-28), who won for the fourth time in their last six games.

Winner Bryan Corey (1-0) got his first major league win.

Akinori Otsuka earned his 11th save.

Manny Ramirez hit a solo homer and drove in two runs, Jason Varitek had one run and three hits, and both Coco Crisp and Mark Loretta had one run and two hits for the Red Sox (35-24).

The loser was Julian Tavarez (1-1).
