MLB: Detroit 5, Toronto 3

TORONTO, June 10 (UPI) -- Brandon Inge and Marcus Thames hit home runs Saturday afternoon as Detroit beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-3.

Inge had one run, one hit and three RBI; Thames had two runs, one hit and two RBI; Magglio Ordonez had one run and one hit; and Chris Shelton scored once for the Tigers (39-23), who got their fourth win in 12 games.

Winner Zach Miner (1-1) allowed only two runs and four hits in six innings with two walks and five strikeouts. Closer Todd Jones got his 17th save.

Lyle Overbay and Troy Glaus hit homers, Bengie Molina had a single to extend his hitting streak to 11 games, and Glaus had two runs and two hits for the Blue Jays (34-27), who have lost four of their last seven games.

Loser Ted Lilly (5-7) gave up three hits and five runs in 8 2/3 innings with two walks and 12 strikeouts.
