MLB: Houston 7, Atlanta 2

HOUSTON, June 9 (UPI) -- Craig Biggio and Mike Lamb homered Friday night as Houston beat the reeling Atlanta Braves, 7-2.

Lamb had two runs, three hits and one RBI; Preston Wilson had one run, two hits and two RBI; while Chris Burke had two hits and one RBI for the Astros (31-31), who rose to .500 with their fourth win in a row.

Winner Fernando Nieve (2-3) gave up two runs and five hits in 7 1/3 innings with one walk and nine strikeouts.

Andruw Jones hit a two-run homer, and Brian McCann had three hits for the Braves (29-33), who suffered the 10th loss in their last 12 games.

Losing pitcher Jorge Sosa (1-8) surrendered six runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
