CLEVELAND, June 8 (UPI) -- Three pitchers combined on a six-hitter Thursday afternoon as Oakland beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-1.
Jason Kendall had one run and three hits; Dan Johnson had two hits and drove in one run; Mark Kotsay had one run and three hits; Nick Swisher had two hits; while Frank Thomas also drove in a run for the Athletics (29-31), who have split their last four games.
In seven innings, winner Estaban Loaiza (1-3) yielded one run and four hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
Kiko Calero pitched 2/3 of an inning; and Huston Street earned his 11th save.
Ben Broussard, who had two hits, blasted his ninth home run for the only run; and Ronny Belliard also had two hits for the Indians (29-30).
Cleveland has lost four times in its last six contests.
Losing pitcher Jason Johnson yielded three runs and 11 hits in seven innings with one walk and three strikeouts.
