Kenseth takes the Nextel race at Dover

DOVER, Del., June 4 (UPI) -- Matt Kenseth won Sunday's Neighborhood Excellence 400 Nextel Cup race at Dover, Del.

His No.17 DeWalt Ford crossed the finish line 0.786 seconds ahead of Jamie McMurray, giving him two wins this season and twelve in his Nextel Cup career.

"I watched everybody in front of me stay out so I kind of decided on my own," Kenseth told the Charlotte Observer. "Then, as I rode by them on pit road I kind of looked over and saw Robbie's (Gordon's) face. I knew I'd better finish pretty good."

Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Kyle Busch finished in spots 3-5, with Jimmy Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Greg Biffle, Mark Martin, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. completing the top 10.

While finishing sixth, Johnson remained atop the championship points race with 2,011 to 1,937 for Kenseth.

Martin is third with 1,795; Earnhardt Jr. fourth with 1,729 and Tony Stewart is fifth with 1,718.
