MLB: Seattle 14, Texas 5

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 1 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez had four RBI and Ichiro Suzuki scored four runs in helping the Seattle Mariners to a 14-5 romp over the Texas Rangers.

Ibanez hit a three-run home run in the third inning of Wednesday's game, sparking a six-run rally that beat Texas starter John Koronka (4-3). Seattle starter Felix Hernandez (4-6) gave up five runs in one inning but still got the victory.

Seattle snapped a six-game losing streak with an 18-hit attack that saw three batters get three hits. The Mariners started off hot, parlaying three first-inning singles into a run by Suzuki.

Seattle put up six runs in the third with Suzuki again starting the rally with a single. He scored on a Jose Lopez single, just ahead of Ibanez' three-run home run. After an out, the Mariners strung together three singles for another run and a 7-0 lead.

Texas made it a two-run game with a rally in the fifth that included a grand slam by Gary Matthews.

The Mariners scored seven runs over the next three innings. Richie Sexson had a two-run single in the sixth; Adrian Beltre added a two-run base hit and Lopez a sacrifice fly in the seventh; and walks keyed a two-run eighth.
