ATLANTA, June 1 (UPI) -- Shaun Green hit a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning Thursday night to give Arizona a 2-1 win over the Atlanta Braves.
Andy Green and Jeff DaVanon scored on Green's hit, and Eric Byrnes had two hits for the Diamondbacks (31-22), who have won seven times in their last 10 games to take over the top spot in the National League West Division.
Winner Juan Cruz (3-3), a former Brave, scattered five hits over seven scoreless innings with one walk and one strikeout.
Newly acquired Jorge Julio earned his second save.
Andruw Jones -- who blasted his 14th home run in the ninth -- had one run, three hits and one RBI for the Braves (28-26), who had only six hits in their third loss in four games.
Losing pitcher Horacio Ramirez (1-1) gave up only two runs and three hits in seven-plus innings, with five walks and one strikeout.
