MLB: Baltimore 7, LA Angels 6

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 28 (UPI) -- Both Melvin Mora and Brian Roberts had two runs, three hits and one RBI Sunday as Baltimore beat the Los Angeles Angels, 7-6.

Javy Lopez had three hits and one RBI, and Corey Patterson had two hits and two runs for the Orioles (23-28), who snapped a two-game skid to avert a three-game weekend sweep.

In relief, the winner was Kurt Birkins (1-0), who earned his first major league victory. Chris Ray notched his 13th save.

Vladimir Guerrero had two runs, two hits and one RBI; Adam Kennedy had one run, one hit and one RBI; and Garret Anderson had two hits for the Angels (21-29), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.

The loser was Kelvim Escobar (5-5). He gave up five runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Baltimore Manager Sam Perlozzo was ejected by home plate umpire Tim Timmons in the fifth inning for arguing a call on a bunt down the third-base line.
