MLB: N.Y. Mets 7, Florida 4

MIAMI, May 27 (UPI) -- Veteran southpaw Tom Glavine pitched a perfect game through five innings Saturday afternoon as the New York Mets beat Florida, 7-4.

David Wright -- who sat out Friday night because of back spasms -- had one run, four hits and two RBI; Carlos Beltran doubled in two runs; Ramon Castro hit a solo home run; Julio Franco had two hits and drove in a run; while both Kaz Matsui and Chris Woodward had one hit and two runs for the Mets (29-19), who averted their first three-game losing streak this season.

Glavine (8-2) gave up three runs and six hits in 7 2/3 innings with no walks and nine strikeouts.

Reggie Abercrombie -- who broke up Glavine's no-hitter -- had two runs, three hits and one RBI; and Joe Borchard hit a two-run homer for the Marlins (15-32), who had a season-high four-game winning streak snapped.

Loser Dontrelle Willis sank to 1-6.
