MLB: Atlanta 2, Chi. Cubs 1

CHICAGO, May 27 (UPI) -- Marcus Giles had one hit and knocked in both runs Saturday afternoon as Atlanta edged the Chicago Cubs, 2-1.

Both catcher Brayan Pena and winning pitcher Horacio Ramirez had one run and one hit for the Braves (26-23), who have won five times in their last six games.

Ramirez (1-0), making his first start in nearly two months, scattered one run and seven hits over seven innings with no walks and two strikeouts.

He had been on the 15-day disabled list because of a pulled left hamstring.

Mike Remlinger registered his second save.

Matt Murton had three hits, and Todd Walker had two hits and drove in the lone run for the Cubs (18-30), who have lot five games in a row and eight of their last nine.

Losing pitcher Sean Marshall (3-3) gave up two runs and seven hits in six innings with two walks and two strikeouts.
