KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 25 (UPI) -- Omar Infante hit two home runs Wednesday night as the Detroit Tigers beat Kansas City, 6-3.
In all, Infante had two runs, two hits and three RBI; Ivan Rodriguez added one run and three hits; and Brandon Inge hit a two-run homer for the Tigers (32-14), who won for the fifth straight time while extending Kansas City's losing streak to 12 consecutive games.
Winning pitcher Jeremy Bonderman rose to 5-3 and Todd Jones notched his 15th save.
Matt Stairs hit a three-run homer; Mark Grudzielanek had one run and two hits; while both Paul Bako and Emil Brown had two hits for the Royals, who sank to a paltry 10-34 overall.
Losing pitcher Jimmy Gobble fell to 0-1 after surrendering only one run and three hits in four innings.
