UNCASVILLE, Conn., May 20 (UPI) -- Nykesha Sales had 19 points and 10 rebounds Saturday as the Connecticut Sun opened defense of their Eastern Conference title with a 91-74 win over New York.
Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 16 points and Margo Dydek scored 12 for the Sun.

Becky Hammon scored 20 points and Shameka Christon had 16 for New York.
The Sun won the East last year but lost to the Sacramento Monarchs in the WNBA finals.
