MLB: St. Louis 10, Kansas City 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 21 (UPI) -- Jim Edmonds' two-run single keyed a five-run seventh inning Sunday as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Kansas City Royals, 10-3, for a three-game sweep.

Albert Pujols, Chris Duncan and Hector Luna homered for the Cardinals, who won their fifth straight. Pujols leads the majors with 22 homers, and has driven in 54 runs.

So Taguchi went 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Aaron Miles went 2-for-5 and scored a run for the Cards.

Veteran right-hander Jeff Suppan (5-3) held the Royals to two runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings.

Aaron Guiel homered for the Royals, who lost their ninth straight and have been swept in three straight series. Emil Brown and Matt Stairs went 2-for-5 and Stairs added a pair of runs.

Scott Elarton (0-5) allowed five runs on five hits with two walks in six innings.
