KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 20 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols hit his 21st homer Saturday, a three-run blast in the eighth inning, to lead the St. Louis Cardinals past the Kansas City Royals, 4-2.

Juan Encarnacion went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Scott Rolen had two hits and a run scored for the Cardinals, who have won their last four games.

Anthony Reyes (1-0), who was recalled from Triple-A Memphis before the game, lasted 5 2/3 innings and scattered four hits.

Reggie Sanders went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Mark Grudzielanek had a hit and knocked in a run for the Royals, who have lost their last eight games.

Kansas City pitcher Denny Bautista (0-2) give up only one run on five hits in six innings, but still got tagged with the loss.
