ATHENS, Ga., May 19 (UPI) -- The University of Georgia Friday gave women's basketball coach Andy Landers a four-year contract extension.
The deal keeps Landers with the Lady Bulldogs through the 2011 season.
Landers had one year remaining on his existing contract. His base salary will jump from $180,132 to $225,000 and his total compensation package -- currently worth $431,132 -- goes up to $525,000.
"Andy is one of the legendary coaches in women's collegiate basketball and has a record of achievement that is not matched by many coaches in the history of the game," said Georgia Athletic Director Damon Evans.
In 27 seasons at Georgia, Landers has compiled a 657-208 record, leading the Lady Bulldogs to a combined 11 SEC Championships and SEC Tournament titles and 23 invitations to the NCAA Championship tournament.
Landers has been named National Coach of the Year four times and SEC Coach of the Year three times.
