MLB: Pittsburgh 7, Cincinnati 2

PITTSBURGH, May 17 (UPI) -- Freddy Sanchez had three hits, one run and three RBI Wednesday night as Pittsburgh beat the Cincinnati Reds, 7-2.

Ronny Paulino and Jose Castillo each had one run and two hits; Nate McLouth -- who hit a solo home run -- had two runs, two hits and one RBI; Jason Bay had two hits and drove in a run; and winning pitcher Oliver Perez hit a two-run single for the Pirates (13-27), who have won their last two games and three of their last five.

In six innings, Perez (2-5) gave up two runs and five hits with five walks and five strikeouts.

Ryan Freel had two hits and scored twice, Ken Griffey Jr. had two hits and one RBI, and Austin Kearns had one hit and one RBI for the Reds (23-17), who have lost a season-high five straight games.

In six innings, loser Bronson Arroyo (5-2) gave up four runs and nine hits.
