"I am disappointed that things did not work out for Keving at Carolina," Gamecocks coach Dave Odom told The State newspaper in Columbia. "Since the loss of his father last summer it has been difficult for him being so far away from his family. I wish him the very best."

The 6-foot, 8-inch Palacios averaged 1.1 points and 1.3 rebounds while playing an average of 7 ½ minutes a game last season. He was sidelined after breaking his foot in the Southeastern Conference championship game.
